Importance
We believe in the value and importance of an environment where all AWS (Amazon Web Services) User Group members feel welcome and safe. This Code of Conduct explains the behaviour we expect from AWS User Group members interacting at our events.
Unacceptable Behaviour
Harassment, aggression, and intimidation are hurtful and interfere with other people’s experience and participation in our community. These behaviours are inappropriate and unacceptable. Be specifically mindful to avoid behaviours that are inappropriate in regard to:
race, color, creed, gender (including pregnancy, perceived pregnancy, childbirth, breastfeeding, or related medical conditions), gender identity, religion (including religious dress and grooming), marital status, domestic partner status, genetic information, age, national origin or ancestry, military or veteran status, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, or any other basis protected by federal, state, or local laws.
Also, this Code of Conduct applies to all LGBTQ in AWS User Group, including public channels, private channels, and direct messages, both online and offline. If you are being harassed by a member of non-LGBTQ inside and outside our space, we want to know about it. We will take all good-faith reports of harassment by non-LGBTQ AWS User Group members, especially the administrators, seriously.
Harassment includes:
- Slurs and derogatory statements
- Clothing with obscene language
- Threats of violence
- Deliberate intimidation
- Stalking or following
- Unwanted photography or recording
- Online activity for harassment purposes
- Unwelcome sexual attention
- Unwanted letters or poems
- Offensive email or voicemail messages
- One-on-one communication after requests to cease
Consequences
- Inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated.
- The attendee will be immediately removed from the event.
- Access to future AWS User Group events will be limited/denied.
- Inappropriate content will be removed.
Scope
We expect all AWS User Group members (including but not limited to attendees, vendors, sponsors, speakers, volunteers, moderators) to uphold the principles of this Code of Conduct. In the context of AWS User Group events, this Code of Conduct covers the main event and all related events.
